My first Master’s degree is in Dramatic Literature from the University of Art in Iran. For my thesis, I conducted a narratological study of Jean Genet’s dramatic works, using Gérard Genette’s theories as a critical framework. This research allowed me to explore the complexities of narrative structure, time, voice, and focalization in Genet’s plays, shedding light on the subversive aesthetics of his theatrical world. Inspired by my thesis, I later developed and co-authored an academic article that further examines Genet’s narrative strategies, focusing on the interplay between form and ideology in his dramaturgy. This experience deepened my interest in the intersection of literary theory, performance, and identity—an interest that continues to inform my academic and creative work today.
